The ConsiderBeyond Attributes were created to help our users find brands and products that are making a difference in areas that matter to them. We evaluate brands based on the attributes we believe is important in sustainability using publically available information, meaning that there may be limitations to our database and information depending on the brand's transparency. Please read FAQ to read about the limitations.
We look at a brand’s dedication over time to not only maintaining, but also improving their sustainable practices within their capacity.
We look at a brand's ability to communicate their sustainability mission, initiatives and actions with their consumers.
We look at a brand's core mission and business models that are oriented towards bettering the environment, communities, and consumer experience.
Each brand on ConsiderBeyond falls into at least one of the brand attributes. Many definitions and standards of sustainability are still unclear and evolving. Because of this, we will continue to update and further develop our standards and framework when new information, regulations, guidelines, and discussions comes to light.
