Cafe Joyeux has not opened coffee shops in Rennes, Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon, Tours, Montpellier, Nantes and internationally in Brussels, Lisbon and New York. Café Joyeux started as an initiative in France that aims to tackle the inequality faced by people with intellectual disabilities, such as autism spectrum disorders and Down syndrome, particularly in employment. With only 0.5% of people with intellectual disabilities having jobs, Café Joyeux seeks to provide inclusion through employment opportunities and help people with disabilities build confidence, develop skills, and foster a sense of belonging among its team members.
